MWRD Calumet Water Reclamation Plant
Located on Chicago’s Far South Side, the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant serves more than one million residents across a large portion of southern Cook County and processes hundreds of millions of gallons of wastewater each day.
As one of MWRD’s major treatment facilities, the plant plays a critical role in protecting regional waterways, public health, and the overall water environment throughout the Chicago area.
Complete Ventilation Delivery
Air Design Systems was responsible for the complete ventilation scope associated with major facility improvements at the Calumet plant.
Our team provided the coordination, fabrication, and field installation required to deliver complex ventilation systems in an active industrial environment where reliability, safety, access, and continuous operations were critical.
Water reclamation facilities present a very different set of challenges than traditional commercial construction. Ventilation systems must be coordinated around process equipment, specialized treatment areas, corrosive environments, odor-control requirements, and facilities that must continue operating throughout construction.
ADS brought its experience in large-scale sheet metal fabrication, mechanical coordination, and industrial field installation to successfully execute the work in this demanding environment.
